Lansing Warehouse


Wolverton Garden and Pet Supply was established in 1940 by Mayo Wolverton as a retail outlet for garden and pet supplies. In 1951 the company started distributing gardening and pet supplies to other retailers in Lansing and the surrounding areas.

In 1965, the Company was purchased by Leonard Parks and Donald Rinckey. Wolverton Incorporated was formed and founded. The retail outlet was closed, garden supplies were discontinued, and Wolverton devoted its full attention to distributing wholesale pet and veterinary supplies. We continue to grow and expand in the pet supply industry and now service retailers in 8 states and other distributors around the country. In the past few years, we have added facilities in Louisville, KY, Brunswick, OH, and expanded our Lansing, MI operation several times. Our retail customer territory includes Michigan, Ohio, Indiana, Kentucky, Western West Virginia and Western Pennsylvania.

Our Customers

Our customer base consists of kennels, veterinary clinics, independent pet stores, large chain stores, and mass accounts. We also provide order fulfillment for online retailers.

Warehouse Operations

Wolverton supplies custom-packed orders delivered directly to our customer locations and distribution centers. Our experienced warehouse staff and state-of-the-art automation system help ensure our customer orders are correct, on-time, and packaged safely. We consistently achieve one of the highest on-time shipping percentages in our industry.

Transportation & Delivery

Our fleet of semi trucks, box trucks, and delivery vans make deliveries five days a week from all three of our facilities. Our friendly drivers are some of the best in the industry and they pride themselves on their accurate on-time deliveries. We also offer UPS and Federal Express delivery on certain items.

Outside Sales and Customer Service

Our outside sales team consists of representatives who live throughout our territory and offer in-person, phone, and email support to their local accounts. They are happy to work on a one-on-one basis with customers and give them the personal attention needed to help build their business. They offer help with orders, merchandising in stores, showing the newest products, and making sure customers have the tools needed to succeed. In addition, our friendly Customer Service staff will assist you with placing orders, answering questions, and resolving any issues our customers may have. They are normally available from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. EST Monday to Friday.


Wolverton is one of the leaders in electronic transmission technology, giving you the many choices in electronic ordering formats and techniques. We accept orders from various electronic equipment including point of sales systems, all-in-one scanners, EDI transmissions, and direct linkage through our web site to process online orders. Order confirmations can be sent automatically to ensure your order has been received in our database. You can also receive electronic invoices to notify you of product that has been shipped.
